Privacy Policy
Closeout is a software-as-a-service application operated by Homewood Creations LLC ("we," "us") that helps cabinet shops, millwork fabricators, and other finish-trades businesses manage project closeout punchlists. This policy describes what information we collect when you use the application at app.closeout.business, and how we handle it.
Information we collect
- Account information. When an authorized administrator invites you, we store your name, email address, role within your organization, and (if you choose to add it for notifications) your mobile phone number.
- Project data. Punchlist items, photos, attached files, and activity history you create or that other users in your organization create on your behalf.
- Usage data. Logs of when you sign in, what actions you take in the app, and basic technical information (IP address, browser type) so we can troubleshoot and improve reliability.
- Communications you initiate. Emails or messages you send to us at the addresses below.
How we use it
- To operate the application, including authenticating you, showing you your organization's data, and delivering project and activity notifications you have opted into.
- To send transactional messages (account verification, security alerts, notification confirmations).
- To diagnose problems and protect the service from abuse.
- To respond when you contact support.
We do not use your personal information to send marketing, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.
SMS notifications
If you choose to receive SMS notifications, you add your mobile phone number to your account settings and confirm a one-time verification code we send by text. Only after this verification does the number become eligible to receive further messages. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Closeout sends only transactional notifications about activity on your own projects — never marketing.
You can opt out at any time by removing your phone number from your account settings, or by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, CANCEL, or END to any text message. After opt-out we remove the number from our notification routes and stop sending. Reply HELP for assistance, or email support@closeout.business.
Who we share with
We share information only with service providers that operate parts of the application on our behalf, and only the minimum they need to do that work. Current providers include:
- Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, file storage, transactional email, SMS delivery).
- Mailgun (inbound email intake).
We may also disclose information if compelled by law, or if necessary to investigate fraud or protect the safety of users. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
How long we keep it
Account and project data is retained for as long as your organization is an active customer, and for a reasonable additional period after termination to allow restoration if the account is reactivated. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing support@closeout.business.
Security
Passwords are hashed (never stored as plain text). Sessions and API keys are protected by industry-standard mechanisms. Transit is encrypted via HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection; if we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you.
Children
Closeout is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes affecting how we use your personal information will be communicated by email to account administrators.
